Rođena 1955. godine  u Dubrovniku. Diplomirala je 1977. godine, magistrirala 1984. godine i doktorirala 1993. godine na Ekonomskom fakultetu u Splitu. Izabrana je u znanstveno-nastavno zvanje docenta 1994. godine na predmetima »Marketing u turizmu« i »Poslovanje ugostiteljskih poduzeća«, 1998. godine u zvanje izvarednog profesora na istim predmetima, a 2002. u zvanje redovitog profesora. Tenutno predaje predmete Osnove marketinga, Marketing u brodarstvu i lukama, Marketing u turizmu i Poslovanje ugfostiteljskih tvrtki na Odjelu za ekonomiju i poslovnu ekonomiju Sveučilišta u Dubrovniku (bivši Fakultet za turizam i vanjsku trgovinu Sveučilišta u Splitu), gdje radi od 1984. godine .

Predaje na dodiplomskim i poslijediplomskim studijima u Mostaru, Splitu, Osijeku i Zagrebu. Na poslijediplomskom znanstvenom magistarskom studiju »Poslovna ekonomija u turizmu« na Sveučilištu u Dubrovniku od 1999 godine voditelj je predmeta »Upravljanje marketingom u turizmu«, na Ekonomskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Osijeku predmeta »Marketing u turizmu«. Kao gost predavač sudjelovala je na poslijediplomskim studijima na Ekonomskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

Na Fakultetu za turizam i vanjsku trgovinu obavljala je dužnosti pročelnice odjela mikroekonomije u razdoblju 1994-1996, prodekanice za nastavu u razdoblju 1996-1998. godine i dekanice fakulteta od 1998 do 2002 godine. Od 2004. godine nalazi se na dužnosti prorektorice za nastavu Sveučilišta u Dubrovniku. Članica je Područnog znanstvenog vijeća za društvene znanosti i Prosudbene skupine za ocjenjivanje projekata za polje ekonomije koje financira Ministarstvo znanosti, obrazovanja i športa.

Ukupno je objavila 86 znanstvenih i stručnih radova u zemlji i inozemstvu (Kina, SAD, Brazil, Velika Britanija, Grčka, Malta, Turska, itd.). Bila je članica više programskih i organizacijskih odbora različitih znanstvenih konferencija u zemlji i inozemstvu. Sudjelovala je  u izradi brojnih znanstvenih projekata, a voditelj je istraživačkog projekta »Hrvatska na europskom tržištu u uvjetima globalizacije« kojeg financira Ministarstvo, znanosti, obrazovanja i športa. Članica je uredništva časopisa »Ekonomska misao i praksa«, Društva ekonomista Hrvatske, Znanstvenog vijeća za turizam Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti i Međunarodnog udruženja znanstvenih eksperata u turizmu ( AIEST-e).
